duḥkhī hañā śivānanda upavāsa kailā

 cāhiyā - looking; nā - not; pāila - found; kukkura - the dog; loka saba āilā - all the men returned; duḥkhī hañā - being unhappy; śivānanda - Śivānanda Sena; upavāsa - fast; kailā - observed.
