prabhu bale — eta anna nÄriba khÄite
sannyÄsÄ«ra dharma nahe ucchiá¹£á¹a rÄkhite
prabhu bale - the Lord said; eta - so much; anna - eatables; nÄriba - I will not be able; khÄite - to eat; sannyÄsÄ«ra - of a sannyÄsÄ«; dharma nahe - it is not the duty; ucchiá¹£á¹a - remnants of food; rÄkhite - to keep.
According to ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam (11.18.19):
bahir jalÄÅ›ayaá¹ gatvÄ tatopaspṛśya vÄg-yataḥ
vibhajya pÄvitaá¹ Å›eá¹£aá¹ bhuñjÄ«tÄÅ›eá¹£am Ähá¹›tam
“Whatever edibles a sannyÄsÄ« gets from a householder’s house he should take outside near some lake or river, and after offering the food to Viṣṇu, BrahmÄ and the sun (three divisions), he should eat the entire offering and not leave anything for others to eat.â€
