rÄá¸ha-deÅ›e tina dina karilÄ bhramaṇa
sannyÄsa kari' - after accepting the sannyÄsa order; prema-ÄveÅ›e - in intense love for Kṛṣṇa; calilÄ - proceeded; vá¹›ndÄvana - toward Vá¹›ndÄvana-dhÄma; rÄá¸ha-deÅ›e - in the tract of land known as RÄá¸ha; tina dina - continuously for three days; karilÄ - did; bhramaṇa - wandering.
After accepting the sannyÄsa order, Caitanya MahÄprabhu, out of intense love for Kṛṣṇa, started for Vá¹›ndÄvana. However, He mistakenly wandered about in a trance continuously for three days in the tract of land known as RÄá¸ha-deÅ›a.
The word RÄá¸ha-deÅ›a comes from the word rÄá¹£á¹ra, or “state.†From rÄá¹£á¹ra the corrupted word rÄá¸ha has come. The part of Bengal on the western side of the Ganges is known as RÄá¸ha-deÅ›a. Another name is Pauṇá¸ra-deÅ›a or Peṇá¸o-deÅ›a. The word peṇá¸o is a corrupted form of the word pauṇá¸ra. It appears that the capital of RÄá¹£á¹ra-deÅ›a was situated in that part of Bengal.
