'rÅ«á¸ha', 'adhirÅ«á¸ha' bhÄva — kevala 'madhure'

rÅ«á¸ha - advanced; adhirÅ«á¸ha - highly advanced; bhÄva - ecstasy; kevala - only; madhure - in the transcendental mellow of conjugal love; mahiṣī-gaṇera - of the queens of DvÄrakÄ; rÅ«á¸ha - advanced; adhirÅ«á¸ha - highly advanced; gopikÄ-nikare - among the gopÄ«s.
The adhirÅ«á¸ha ecstasies are explained in the Ujjvala-nÄ«lamaṇi (SthÄyi-bhÄva-prakaraṇa 170):
rÅ«á¸hoktebhyo ’nubhÄvebhyaḥ kÄm apy ÄptÄ viÅ›iá¹£á¹atÄm
yatrÄnubhÄvÄ dṛśyante so ’dhirÅ«á¸ho nigadyate
The very sweet attraction of conjugal love increases through affection, counterlove, love, attachment, subattachment, ecstasy and highly advanced ecstasy (mahÄbhÄva). The platform of mahÄbhÄva includes rÅ«á¸ha and adhirÅ«á¸ha. These platforms are possible only in conjugal love. Advanced ecstasy is found in DvÄrakÄ, whereas highly advanced ecstasy is found among the gopÄ«s.
