All the activities of ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu were noted by His personal secretary SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara and repeated to RaghunÄtha dÄsa GosvÄmÄ«, who memorized them. Whatever KṛṣṇadÄsa KavirÄja GosvÄmÄ« heard is recorded in ÅšrÄ« Caitanya-caritÄmá¹›ta. This is called the paramparÄ system, from ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu to SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara to RaghunÄtha dÄsa GosvÄmÄ« to KavirÄja GosvÄmÄ«. KṛṣṇadÄsa KavirÄja GosvÄmÄ« has distributed this information in his book Caitanya-caritÄmá¹›ta. In other words, ÅšrÄ« Caitanya-caritÄmá¹›ta is the essence of the instruction given through the paramparÄ system of the disciplic succession stemming from ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu.
