Later, ÅšrÄ«la RaghunÄtha dÄsa GosvÄmÄ« left home and took shelter of ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu at JagannÄtha PurÄ«. At that time, the Lord received him and placed him under the care of SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara for spiritual enlightenment.

In this regard, ÅšrÄ«la RaghunÄtha dÄsa GosvÄmÄ« writes in VilÄpa-kusumÄñjali (5):

yo mÄá¹ dustara-geha-nirjala-mahÄ-kÅ«pÄd apÄra-klamÄt
 sadyaḥ sÄndra-dayÄmbudhiḥ praká¹›titaḥ svairÄ«ká¹›pÄ-rajjubhiḥ
uddhá¹›tyÄtma-saroja-nindi-caraṇa-prÄntaá¹ prapadya svayaá¹
 Å›rÄ«-dÄmodara-sÄc-cakÄra tam ahaá¹ caitanya-candraá¹ bhaje

“Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu, who, by His unreserved mercy, kindly saved me from household life, which is exactly like a blind well without water, and placed me in the ocean of transcendental joy under the care of SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara GosvÄmÄ«.â€
