Vallabha Bhaá¹á¹a is the head of the Vaiṣṇava sampradÄya known as the VallabhÄcÄrya-sampradÄya in western India. There is a long story about Vallabha Ä€cÄrya narrated in the Caitanya-caritÄmá¹›ta, specifically in the seventh chapter of the Antya-lÄ«lÄ and the nineteenth chapter of the Madhya-lÄ«lÄ. Lord Caitanya MahÄprabhu visited the house of Vallabha Ä€cÄrya on the other side of PrayÄga, in a place known as Ä€á¸Äila-grÄma. Later, Vallabha Bhaá¹á¹a saw Caitanya MahÄprabhu at JagannÄtha PurÄ« to explain his commentary on ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam. He was very proud of his writings, but ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu corrected him, telling him that a Vaiṣṇava should be humble and follow in the footsteps of his predecessors. The Lord told him that his pride in being superior to ÅšrÄ«dhara SvÄmÄ« was not at all befitting a Vaiṣṇava.
