Text

At RÄmeÅ›vara, ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu had a chance to read the KÅ«rma PurÄṇa, in which He discovered that the form of SÄ«tÄ kidnapped by RÄvaṇa was not that of the real SÄ«tÄ but a mere shadow representation.

Purport

The KÅ«rma PurÄṇa states that this shadowy SÄ«tÄ was placed into a fire as a test of chastity. It was MÄyÄ-sÄ«tÄ who entered the fire and the real SÄ«tÄ who came out of the fire.
