kvacid api na jÄtam ambujÄd ambu
mura-bhidi tad-viparÄ«taá¹
pÄdÄmbhojÄn mahÄ-nadÄ« jÄtÄ

 ambujam - lotus flower; ambuni - in the water; jÄtam - is grown; kvacit - at any time; api - certainly; na - not; jÄtam - grown; ambujÄt - from a lotus flower; ambu - water; mura-bhidi - in Kṛṣṇa, the killer of MurÄsura; tat-viparÄ«tam - just the opposite of that; pÄda-ambhojÄt - from the lotus flower of His feet; mahÄ-nadÄ« - the great river; jÄtÄ - has grown.

“ ‘Everyone knows that lotus flowers grow in the water but water never grows from a lotus. All such contradictions, however, are wonderfully possible in Kṛṣṇa: the great river Ganges has grown from His lotus feet.’
