alpa-kÄle - within a very short time; hailÄ - became; pañjÄ«-á¹Ä«kÄte - in the commentary on grammar named PañjÄ«-á¹Ä«kÄ; pravīṇa - very expert; cira-kÄlera - all older; paá¸uyÄ - students; jine - conquers; ha-iyÄ - being; navÄ«na - their junior.
He soon became so expert in commenting on the PañjÄ«-á¹Ä«kÄ that He could win victory over all the other students, although He was a neophyte.
ÅšrÄ«la Bhaktivinoda ṬhÄkura says there was a commentary on grammar named PañjÄ«-á¹Ä«kÄ that was later explained very lucidly by ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu.
