kṛṣṇa avatÄrite ÄcÄrya pratijÃ±Ä kariyÄ
kṛṣṇa-pÅ«jÄ kare tulasÄ«-gaá¹…gÄjala diyÄ
kṛṣṇa - Lord Kṛṣṇa; avatÄrite - to cause His advent; ÄcÄrya - Advaita Ä€cÄrya; pratijÃ±Ä - promise; kariyÄ - making; kṛṣṇa-pÅ«jÄ - worship of Lord Kṛṣṇa; kare - does; tulasÄ« - tulasÄ« leaves; gaá¹…gÄ-jala diyÄ - with the water of the Ganges .
TulasÄ« leaves and Ganges water, with, if possible, a little pulp of sandalwood, is sufficient paraphernalia to worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The Lord says in the Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ (9.26):
patraá¹ puá¹£paá¹ phalaá¹ toyaá¹ yo me bhaktyÄ prayacchati
tad ahaá¹ bhakty-upahá¹›tam aÅ›nÄmi prayatÄtmanaḥ
“If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it.†Following this principle, Advaita Prabhu pleased the Supreme Personality of Godhead with tulasī leaves and water of the Ganges.
