Purport

Upendra MiÅ›ra is described in the Gaura-gaṇoddeÅ›a-dÄ«pikÄ (35) as the gopÄla named Parjanya. The same personality who was formerly the grandfather of Lord Kṛṣṇa appeared as Upendra MiÅ›ra at ÅšrÄ«haá¹á¹a and begot seven sons. He was a resident of DhÄkÄ-daká¹£iṇa-grÄma, in the district of ÅšrÄ«haá¹á¹a. There are still many residents of that part of the country who introduce themselves as belonging to the MiÅ›ra family of ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu.
