vá¹›ndÄvane dui bhÄira caraṇa dekhiyÄ
govardhane tyajiba deha bhá¹›gupÄta kariyÄ
vá¹›ndÄvane - at Vá¹›ndÄvana; dui bhÄira - the two brothers (RÅ«pa and SanÄtana); caraṇa - feet; dekhiyÄ - after seeing; govardhane - on the hill of Govardhana; tyajiba - will give up; deha - this body; bhá¹›gupÄta - falling down; kariyÄ - doing so.
ÅšrÄ«la RaghunÄtha dÄsa GosvÄmÄ« intended to go to Vá¹›ndÄvana to see the lotus feet of RÅ«pa and SanÄtana and then give up his life by jumping from Govardhana Hill.
Jumping from the top of Govardhana Hill is a system of suicide especially performed by saintly persons. After the disappearance of Lord Caitanya and SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara, RaghunÄtha dÄsa GosvÄmÄ« keenly felt separation from these two exalted personalities and therefore decided to give up his life by jumping from Govardhana Hill in Vá¹›ndÄvana. Before doing so, however, he wanted to see the lotus feet of ÅšrÄ«la RÅ«pa GosvÄmÄ« and SanÄtana GosvÄmÄ«.
