eka-bhÄve cabbiÅ›a prahara yÄá¹…ra ná¹›tya
vakreÅ›vara paṇá¸ita - VakreÅ›vara Paṇá¸ita; prabhura - of the Lord; baá¸a - very; priya - dear; bhá¹›tya - servant; eka-bhÄve - continuously in the same ecstasy; cabbiÅ›a - twenty-four; prahara - a duration of time comprising three hours; yÄá¹…ra - whose; ná¹›tya - dancing.
In the Gaura-gaṇoddeÅ›a-dÄ«pikÄ (71) it is stated that VakreÅ›vara Paṇá¸ita was an incarnation of Aniruddha, one of the quadruple expansions of Viṣṇu (VÄsudeva, Saá¹…kará¹£aṇa, Aniruddha and Pradyumna). He could dance wonderfully for seventy-two continuous hours. When Lord Caitanya MahÄprabhu played in dramatic performances in the house of ÅšrÄ«vÄsa Paṇá¸ita, VakreÅ›vara Paṇá¸ita was one of the chief dancers, and he danced continuously for that length of time. ÅšrÄ« Govinda dÄsa, an OriyÄ devotee of Lord Caitanya MahÄprabhu, has described the life of VakreÅ›vara Paṇá¸ita in his book Gaura-kṛṣṇodaya. There are many disciples of VakreÅ›vara Paṇá¸ita in Orissa, and they are known as Gauá¸Ä«ya Vaiṣṇavas although they are OriyÄs. Among these disciples are ÅšrÄ« GopÄlaguru and his disciple ÅšrÄ« DhyÄnacandra GosvÄmÄ«.
