When ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu was in Bengal, Tapana MiÅ›ra approached Him to discuss spiritual advancement. Thus he was favored by Lord Caitanya MahÄprabhu and received hari-nÄma initiation. After that, by the order of the Lord, Tapana MiÅ›ra resided in VÄrÄṇasÄ«, and when Lord Caitanya visited VÄrÄṇasÄ« He would accept prasÄdam at the home of Tapana MiÅ›ra.
