ÅšrÄ«la BhaktisiddhÄnta SarasvatÄ« ṬhÄkura writes in his AnubhÄá¹£ya, “ŚrÄ« MÄdhavÄcÄrya was the husband of Lord NityÄnanda’s daughter, Gaá¹…gÄdevÄ«. He took initiation from Puruá¹£ottama, a branch of NityÄnanda Prabhu. It is said that when NityÄnanda Prabhu’s daughter married MÄdhavÄcÄrya, the Lord gave him the village named PÄá¹…jinagara as a dowry. MÄdhavÄcÄrya’s temple is situated near the JÄ«rÄá¹ railway station on the Eastern Railway. According to the Gaura-gaṇoddeÅ›a-dÄ«pikÄ (169), ÅšrÄ« MÄdhavÄcÄrya was formerly the gopÄ« named MÄdhavÄ«. KamalÄkÄnta belonged to the branch of ÅšrÄ« Advaita Prabhu. His full name was KamalÄkÄnta ViÅ›vÄsa.â€
