स तु विप्रेण संवादं ज्ञापकेन समाचरन् ।
त्यक्त्वा कलेवरं योगी स तेनावाप यत् परम् ॥१०॥

jñÄpakena samÄcaran
tyaktvÄ kalevaraá¹ yogÄ«
sa tenÄvÄpa yat param

 saḥ - MahÄrÄja Iká¹£vÄku; tu - indeed; vipreṇa - with the brÄhmaṇa (Vasiṣṭha); saá¹vÄdam - discussion; jñÄpakena - with the informer; samÄcaran - doing accordingly; tyaktvÄ - giving up; kalevaram - this body; yogÄ« - being a bhakti-yogÄ« in the order of renunciation; saḥ - the King; tena - by such instruction; avÄpa - achieved; yat - that position which; param - supreme.

Having been instructed by the great and learned brÄhmaṇa Vasiṣṭha, who discoursed about the Absolute Truth, MahÄrÄja Iká¹£vÄku became renounced. By following the principles for a yogÄ«, he certainly achieved the supreme perfection after giving up his material body.
