श्रीशुक उवाच
एवं भगवतादिष्टो दुर्वासाश्चक्रतापितः ।
अम्बरीषमुपावृत्य तत्पादौ दुःखितोऽग्रहीत् ॥१॥

evaá¹ bhagavatÄdiṣṭo
durvÄsÄÅ› cakra-tÄpitaḥ
ambarÄ«á¹£am upÄvá¹›tya
tat-pÄdau duḥkhito 'grahÄ«t

 Å›rÄ«-Å›ukaḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; evam - in this way; bhagavatÄ Ädiṣṭaḥ - being ordered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead; durvÄsÄḥ - the great mystic yogÄ« named DurvÄsÄ; cakra-tÄpitaḥ - being very much harassed by the SudarÅ›ana cakra; ambarÄ«á¹£am - unto MahÄrÄja AmbarÄ«á¹£a; upÄvá¹›tya - approaching; tat-pÄdau - at his lotus feet; duḥkhitaḥ - being very much aggrieved; agrahÄ«t - he caught.

Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: When thus advised by Lord Viṣṇu, DurvÄsÄ Muni, who was very much harassed by the SudarÅ›ana cakra, immediately approached MahÄrÄja AmbarÄ«á¹£a. Being very much aggrieved, the muni fell down and clasped the King’s lotus feet.
