तस्य पत्नीसहस्राणां दशानां सुमहायशाः ।

 tasya - of ÅšaÅ›abindu; patnÄ« - wives; sahasrÄṇÄm - of thousands; daÅ›ÄnÄm - ten; su-mahÄ-yaÅ›Äḥ - greatly famous; daÅ›a - ten; laká¹£a - lakhs (one lakh equals one hundred thousand); sahasrÄṇi - thousands; putrÄṇÄm - of sons; tÄsu - in them; ajÄ«janat - he begot.


Text

The famous Śaśabindu had ten thousand wives, and by each he begot a lakh of sons. Therefore the number of his sons was ten thousand lakhs.
