इत्युक्त्वा नाहुषो जायां तदीयं पूरवे वयः ।
दत्त्वा स्वजरसं तस्मादाददे विगतस्पृहः ॥२१॥

 iti uktvÄ - saying this; nÄhuá¹£aḥ - MahÄrÄja YayÄti, the son of King Nahuá¹£a; jÄyÄm - unto his wife, DevayÄnÄ«; tadÄ«yam - his own; pÅ«rave - unto his son PÅ«ru; vayaḥ - youth; dattvÄ - delivering; sva-jarasam - his own invalidity and old age; tasmÄt - from him; Ädade - took back; vigata-spá¹›haḥ - being freed from all material lusty desires.

Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: After speaking in this way to his wife, DevayÄnÄ«, King YayÄti, who was now free from all material desires, called his youngest son, PÅ«ru, and returned PÅ«ru’s youth in exchange for his own old age.
