चतसृष्वादिशद्दिक्षु भ्रातॄन् भ्राता यवीयसः ।
कृतदारो जुगोपोर्वीं काव्यस्य वृषपर्वणः ॥४॥

kÄvyasya vṛṣaparvaṇaḥ

 catasṛṣu - over the four; ÄdiÅ›at - allowed to rule; diká¹£u - directions; bhrÄtá¹n - four brothers; bhrÄtÄ - YayÄti; yavÄ«yasaḥ - young; ká¹›ta-dÄraḥ - married; jugopa - ruled; Å«rvÄ«m - the world; kÄvyasya - the daughter of ÅšukrÄcÄrya; vṛṣaparvaṇaḥ - the daughter of VṛṣaparvÄ.

King YayÄti had four younger brothers, whom he allowed to rule the four directions. YayÄti himself married DevayÄnÄ«, the daughter of ÅšukrÄcÄrya, and ÅšarmiṣṭhÄ, the daughter of VṛṣaparvÄ, and ruled the entire earth.
