 vilokya - by seeing; auÅ›anasÄ«m - DevayÄnÄ«, the daughter of ÅšukrÄcÄrya; rÄjan - O King ParÄ«ká¹£it; Å›armiṣṭhÄ - the daughter of VṛṣaparvÄ; su-prajÄm - possessing nice children; kvacit - at some time; tam - him (King YayÄti); eva - indeed; vavre - requested; rahasi - in a secluded place; sakhyÄḥ - of her friend; patim - the husband; á¹›tau - at the appropriate time; satÄ« - being in that position.

O King ParÄ«ká¹£it, upon seeing DevayÄnÄ« with a nice son, ÅšarmiṣṭhÄ once approached King YayÄti at the appropriate time for conception. In a secluded place, she requested the King, the husband of her friend DevayÄnÄ«, to enable her to have a son also.
