 saḥ - he, KÄrtavÄ«ryÄrjuna; ekadÄ - once upon a time; tu - but; má¹›gayÄm - while hunting; vicaran - wandering; vijane - solitary; vane - in a forest; yadá¹›cchayÄ - without any program; ÄÅ›rama-padam - the residential place; jamadagneḥ - of Jamadagni Muni; upÄviÅ›at - he entered.

Once while KÄrtavÄ«ryÄrjuna was wandering unengaged in a solitary forest and hunting, he approached the residence of Jamadagni.

Purport

KÄrtavÄ«ryÄrjuna had no business going to the residence of Jamadagni, but because he was puffed-up by his extraordinary power, he went there and offended ParaÅ›urÄma. This was the prelude to his being killed by ParaÅ›urÄma for his offensive act.
