सोऽयजद् राजसूयेन विजित्य भुवनत्रयम् ।
पत्नीं बृहस्पतेर्दर्पात् तारां नामाहरद् बलात् ॥४॥

so 'yajad rÄjasÅ«yena
vijitya bhuvana-trayam
patnÄ«á¹ bá¹›haspater darpÄt
tÄrÄá¹ nÄmÄharad balÄt

 saḥ - he, Soma; ayajat - performed; rÄjasÅ«yena - the sacrifice known as RÄjasÅ«ya; vijitya - after conquering; bhuvana-trayam - the three worlds (Svarga, Martya and PÄtÄla); patnÄ«m - the wife; bá¹›haspateḥ - of Bá¹›haspati, the spiritual master of the demigods; darpÄt - out of pride; tÄrÄm - TÄrÄ; nÄma - by name; aharat - took away; balÄt - by force.

After conquering the three worlds [the upper, middle and lower planetary systems], Soma, the moon-god, performed a great sacrifice known as the RÄjasÅ«ya-yajña. Because he was very much puffed up, he forcibly kidnapped Bá¹›haspati’s wife, whose name was TÄrÄ.
