श्रीराजोवाच
कथं स भगवान् रामो भ्रात्न् वा स्वयमात्मनः ।
तस्मिन् वा तेऽन्ववर्तन्त प्रजाः पौराश्च ईश्वरे ॥२४॥

kathaá¹ sa bhagavÄn rÄmo
bhrÄtá¹n vÄ svayam Ätmanaḥ
tasmin vÄ te 'nvavartanta
prajÄḥ paurÄÅ› ca Ä«Å›vare

 Å›rÄ«-rÄjÄ uvÄca - MahÄrÄja ParÄ«ká¹£it inquired; katham - how; saḥ - He, the Lord; bhagavÄn - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; rÄmaḥ - Lord RÄmacandra; bhrÄtá¹n - unto the brothers (Laká¹£maṇa, Bharata and Åšatrughna);  - either; svayam - personally; Ätmanaḥ - expansions of His person; tasmin - unto the Lord;  - either; te - they (all the inhabitants and the brothers); anvavartanta - behaved; prajÄḥ - all the inhabitants; paurÄḥ - the citizens; ca - and; Ä«Å›vare - unto the Supreme Lord.
