rakṣaḥ-svasur vyakṛta rūpam aśuddha-buddhes
tasyÄḥ khara-triÅ›ira-dÅ«á¹£aṇa-mukhya-bandhÅ«n
jaghne caturdaÅ›a-sahasram apÄraṇīya-
kodaṇá¸a-pÄṇir aá¹amÄna uvÄsa ká¹›cchram
raká¹£aḥ-svasuḥ - of ŚūrpaṇakhÄ, the sister of the RÄká¹£asa (RÄvaṇa); vyaká¹›ta - (Lord RÄma) deformed; rÅ«pam - the form; aÅ›uddha-buddheḥ - because her intelligence was polluted by lusty desires; tasyÄḥ - of her; khara-triÅ›ira-dÅ«á¹£aṇa-mukhya-bandhÅ«n - many friends, headed by Khara, TriÅ›ira and DÅ«á¹£aṇa; jaghne - He (Lord RÄmacandra) killed; caturdaÅ›a-sahasram - fourteen thousand; apÄraṇīya - invincible; kodaṇá¸a - bows and arrows; pÄṇiḥ - in His hand; aá¹amÄnaḥ - wandering in the forest; uvÄsa - lived there; ká¹›cchram - with great difficulties.
