स्वान् स्वान् बन्धून् परिष्वज्य लक्ष्मणेषुभिरर्दितान् ।
रुरुदुः सुस्वरं दीना घ्नन्त्य आत्मानमात्मना ॥२५॥

laká¹£maṇeá¹£ubhir arditÄn
ruruduḥ susvaraá¹ dÄ«nÄ
ghnantya ÄtmÄnam ÄtmanÄ

 svÄn svÄn - their own respective husbands; bandhÅ«n - friends; pariá¹£vajya - embracing; laká¹£maṇa-iá¹£ubhiḥ - by the arrows of Laká¹£maṇa; arditÄn - who were killed; ruruduḥ - all the wives cried piteously; su-svaram - it was very sweet to hear; dÄ«nÄḥ - very poor; ghnantyaḥ - striking; ÄtmÄnam - their breasts; ÄtmanÄ - by themselves.

Striking their breasts in affliction because their husbands had been killed by the arrows of Lakṣmaṇa, the women embraced their respective husbands and cried piteously in voices appealing to everyone.
