itthaá¹ dhá¹›ta-bhagavad-vrata aiṇeyÄjina-vÄsasÄnusavanÄbhiá¹£ekÄrdra-kapiÅ›a-kuá¹ila-jaá¹Ä-kalÄpena ca virocamÄnaḥ sÅ«ryarcÄ bhagavantaá¹ hiraṇmayaá¹ puruá¹£am ujjihÄne sÅ«rya-maṇá¸ale 'bhyupatiá¹£á¹hann etad u hovÄca
ittham - in this way; dhá¹›ta-bhagavat-vrataḥ - having accepted the vow to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead; aiṇeya-ajina-vÄsasa - with a dress of a deerskin; anusavana - three times in a day; abhiá¹£eka - by a bath; ardra - wet; kapiÅ›a - tawny; kuá¹ila-jaá¹Ä - of curling and matted hair; kalÄpena - by masses; ca - and; virocamÄnaḥ - being very beautifully decorated; sÅ«ryarcÄ - by the Vedic hymns worshiping the expansion of NÄrÄyaṇa within the sun; bhagavantam - unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead; hiraṇmayam - the Lord, whose bodily hue is just like gold; puruá¹£am - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; ujjihÄne - when rising; sÅ«rya-maṇá¸ale - the sun globe; abhyupatiá¹£á¹han - worshiping; etat - this; u ha - certainly; uvÄca - he recited.
The predominating Deity within the sun is Hiraṇmaya, Lord NÄrÄyaṇa. He is worshiped by the GÄyatrÄ« mantra: om bhÅ«r bhuvaḥ svaḥ tat savitur vareṇyaá¹ bhargo devasya dhÄ«mahi. He is also worshiped by other hymns mentioned in the Ṛg Veda, for instance: dhyeyaḥ sadÄ savitá¹›-maṇá¸ala-madhya-vartÄ«. Within the sun, Lord NÄrÄyaṇa is situated, and He has a golden hue.
