vá¹›tÄ dharmeṇa dhÄrmikam
tasminn ayÄjayan ká¹£etre
makhair uttama-kalpakaiḥ

 te - they; enam - him; á¹›á¹£ayaḥ - the sages; rÄjan - O King (ParÄ«ká¹£it); vá¹›tÄḥ - chosen; dharmeṇa - according to religious principles; dhÄrmikam - who was religious; tasmin - in that; ayÄjayan - they engaged in executing sacrifices; ká¹£etre - holy field (of Kuruká¹£etra); makhaiḥ - with fire rituals; uttama - superexcellent; kalpakaiḥ - whose arrangements.

Thus requested by him, O King, the sages engaged the pious Vasudeva in performing fire sacrifices at that holy place of Kuruká¹£etra according to strict religious principles and with most excellent ritual arrangements.
