व्यास उवाच इति सम्प्रश्नसंहृष्टो विप्राणां रौमहर्षिणि: । प्रतिपूज्य वचस्तेशां प्रवक्तुमुपचक्रमे ॥ १

 vyÄsaḥ uvÄca - VyÄsa said; iti - thus; sampraÅ›na - perfect inquiries; saá¹hṛṣṭaḥ - perfectly satisfied; viprÄṇÄm - of the sages there; raumahará¹£aṇiḥ - the son of Romahará¹£aṇa, namely UgraÅ›ravÄ; pratipÅ«jya - after thanking them; vacaḥ - words; teá¹£Äm - their; pravaktum - to reply to them; upacakrame - attempted.

UgraÅ›ravÄ [SÅ«ta GosvÄmÄ«], the son of Romahará¹£aṇa, being fully satisfied by the perfect questions of the brÄhmaṇas, thanked them and thus attempted to reply.

Purport

The sages of Naimiá¹£Äraṇya asked SÅ«ta GosvÄmÄ« six questions, and so he is answering them one by one.
