sÅ«ta uvÄca
yo vai drauṇy-astra-vipluá¹£á¹o
na mÄtur udare má¹›taḥ
anugrahÄd bhagavataḥ
kṛṣṇasyÄdbhuta-karmaṇaḥ
sÅ«taḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« SÅ«ta GosvÄmÄ« said; yaḥ - one who; vai - certainly; drauṇi-astra - by the weapon of the son of Droṇa; vipluá¹£á¹aḥ - burned by; na - never; mÄtuḥ - of the mother; udare - in the womb; má¹›taḥ - met his death; anugrahÄt - by the mercy; bhagavataḥ - of the Personality of Godhead; kṛṣṇasya - Kṛṣṇa; adbhuta-karmaṇaḥ - who acts wonderfully.
The sages of Naimiá¹£Äraṇya became struck with wonder after hearing about the wonderful administration of MahÄrÄja ParÄ«ká¹£it, especially in reference to his punishing the personality of Kali and making him completely unable to do any harm within the kingdom. SÅ«ta GosvÄmÄ« was equally anxious to describe MahÄrÄja ParÄ«ká¹£it’s wonderful birth and death, and this verse is stated by SÅ«ta GosvÄmÄ« to increase the interest of the sages of Naimiá¹£Äraṇya.
