विमृज्याश्रूणि पाणिभ्यां विष्टभ्यात्मानमात्मना ।
अजातशत्रुं प्रत्यूचे प्रभोः पादावनुस्मरन् ॥३६॥

prabhoḥ pÄdÄv anusmaran

 vimá¹›jya - smearing; aÅ›rūṇi - tears of the eyes; pÄṇibhyÄm - with his hands; viṣṭabhya - situated; ÄtmÄnam - the mind; ÄtmanÄ - by intelligence; ajÄta-Å›atrum - unto MahÄrÄja Yudhiṣṭhira; pratyÅ«ce - began to reply; prabhoḥ - of his master; pÄdau - feet; anusmaran - thinking after.

First he slowly pacified his mind by intelligence, and wiping away his tears and thinking of the feet of his master, Dhá¹›tarÄṣṭra, he began to reply to MahÄrÄja Yudhiṣṭhira.
