पितर्युपरते पाण्डौ सर्वान्नः सुहृदः शिशून् ।

 pitari - upon my father; uparate - falling down; pÄṇá¸au - MahÄrÄja PÄṇá¸u; sarvÄn - all; naḥ - of us; suhá¹›daḥ - well-wishers; Å›iśūn - small children; araká¹£atÄm - protected; vyasanataḥ - from all kinds of dangers; pitá¹›vyau - uncles; kva - where; gatau - have departed; itaḥ - from this place.

When my father, PÄṇá¸u, fell down and we were all small children, these two uncles gave us protection from all kinds of calamities. They were always our good well-wishers. Alas, where have they gone from here?
