nÄnopacÄra-ká¹›ta-pÅ«janam Ärta-bandhoḥ
premṇaiva bhakta-há¹›dayaá¹ sukha-vidrutaá¹ syÄt
yÄvat ká¹£ud asti jaá¹­hare jaraá¹­hÄ pipÄsÄ
tÄvat sukhÄya bhavato nanu bhaká¹£ya-peye

 nÄnÄ-upacÄra - by varieties of offerings; ká¹›ta - performed; pÅ«janam - worshiping; Ärta-bandhoḥ - of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the friend of all distressed persons; premá¹‡Ä - by ecstatic love; eva - indeed; bhakta-há¹›dayam - the heart of a devotee; sukha-vidrutam - melted in transcendental bliss; syÄt - becomes; yÄvat - as long as; ká¹£ut - appetite; asti - there is; jaá¹­hare - in the stomach; jaraá¹­hÄ - strong; pipÄsÄ - thirst; tÄvat - so long; sukhÄya - for happiness; bhavataḥ - are; nanu - indeed; bhaká¹£ya - eatables; peye - and drinkables.

RÄmÄnanda RÄya continued, “ ‘As long as there is hunger and thirst within the stomach, varieties of food and drink make one feel very happy. Similarly, when the Lord is worshiped with pure love, the various activities performed in the course of that worship awaken transcendental bliss in the heart of the devotee.’
