'Å›reyo-madhye kona Å›reyaḥ jÄ«vera haya sÄra?'
'kṛṣṇa-bhakta-saá¹…ga vinÄ Å›reyaḥ nÄhi Ära'

 Å›reyaḥ-madhye - among beneficial activities; kona - which; Å›reyaḥ - beneficial function; jÄ«vera - of the living entity; haya - is; sÄra - the essence; kṛṣṇa-bhakta-saá¹…ga - for associating with the devotees of Lord Kṛṣṇa; vinÄ - except; Å›reyaḥ - beneficial activity; nÄhi - there is not; Ära - another.

Then ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu asked, “Out of all auspicious and beneficial activities, which is best for the living entity?â€

Purport

RÄmÄnanda RÄya replied, “The only auspicious activity is association with the devotees of Kṛṣṇa.â€

According to ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam (11.2.30):

ata Ätyantikaá¹ ká¹£emaá¹ pá¹›cchÄmo bhavato ’naghÄḥ
saá¹sÄre ’smin ká¹£aṇÄrdho ’pi sat-saá¹…gaḥ Å›evadhir nṛṇÄm

“We are asking you to tell us what is the most perfect welfare activity. I think that in this material world, association with devotees — even if it be for a moment — is the greatest treasure house for mankind.â€
