tasmÄd uttiá¹£á¹ha kaunteya
yuddhÄya ká¹›ta-niÅ›cayaḥ
hataḥ - being killed; vÄ - either; prÄpsyasi - you gain; svargam - the heavenly kingdom; jitvÄ - by conquering; vÄ - or; bhoká¹£yase - you enjoy; mahÄ«m - the world; tasmÄt - therefore; uttiá¹£á¹ha - get up; kaunteya - O son of KuntÄ«; yuddhÄya - to fight; ká¹›ta - determined; niÅ›cayaḥ - in certainty.
Even though there was no certainty of victory for Arjuna’s side, he still had to ï¬ght; for, even being killed there, he could be elevated into the heavenly planets.
