नà¥à¤¯à¤¾à¤¯à¥à¤¯à¤‚ वा विपरीतं वा पञà¥à¤šà¥ˆà¤¤à¥‡ तसà¥à¤¯ हेतवः ॥१५॥

Å›arÄ«ra-vÄá¹…-manobhir yat
karma prÄrabhate naraḥ
nyÄyyaá¹ vÄ viparÄ«taá¹ vÄ
pañcaite tasya hetavaḥ

 Å›arÄ«ra - by the body; vÄk - speech; manobhiḥ - and mind; yat - which; karma - work; prÄrabhate - begins; naraḥ - a person; nyÄyyam - right;  - or; viparÄ«tam - the opposite;  - or; pañca - five; ete - all these; tasya - its; hetavaḥ - causes.

Whatever right or wrong action a man performs by body, mind or speech is caused by these ï¬ve factors.

Purport

The words “right†and “wrong†are very signiï¬cant in this verse. Right work is work done in terms of the prescribed directions in the scriptures, and wrong work is work done against the principles of the scriptural injunctions. But whatever is done requires these ï¬ve factors for its complete performance.
